Like for example the adrenaline boosting Zipline in Karatu which will rush you from one ancient baobab tree to the other while enjoying the amazing view of Manyara. From the young and modern office of TanZip in Mto Wa Mbu where you will get your gloves and your safety belt it is about a 20 minutes ride with one of the local Bajadjis, a tuk tuk which you might know from pictures out of India. Your guides will take you on the trip along a vast and dry area that is home to the Maasai tribe – children herding the cattle and women carrying firewood on their heads are part of the rural scenery. After entering a forest-like area, you will walk for about 10 minutes through an oasis and up a hill to reach the Zipline constructions. Tied between hundreds of year old baobab trees this is the right recipe for an adventurous and fun day activity. Safety is the most important rule while on the Zipline, which is why Fadhili, one of the guides, will give you a careful instruction on how to close the safety belts and how to use the Zipline. Five steps up, and the Karabiner always carefully attached to the steel cable, and you are ready to go! A strong push with the legs and off you go flying over the scenery – try to let off your arms and feel like a bird in the wind!
