Itinerary
When you arrive at the airport, our guide will be holding a poster with your name on it, ready to you warmly welcome and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha (45-60 minutes). You will arrive at the hotel for check-in and relaxation since no activities are scheduled for today. Dinner and overnight at Hotel/ Lodge -FB
Arusha town is Tanzania’s safari capital, famous or its well better-known neighbors, including Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. The town has numerous first-class restaurants, bars, and local markets. Arusha’s rural charm is amplified by the many beautiful coffee plantations that surround the town, many of them dating back to colonial times and offering tours of graceful plantation houses..
After breakfast depart to Tarangire, the park is Tanzania's third-largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides only the area’s water supply. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopards, cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants. We will spend 2 days here doing a safari in the national and a cultural visit within the semi-nomadic tribes around the area. Dinner & overnight. Lodge/ Tented Camp Experience- FB
Tarangire - This National Park enables you to experience an unrivalled landscape of open plains, dotted with thousands of baobabs. Not only does the meandering Tarangire River attract a vast number of wildlife, but the Park is also especially renowned for its huge elephant herds, enabling its visitors the spotting of entire thick-skinned families!
After a delightful breakfast, you will pack your bags and hop in for a drive to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Crater, One of the best places on this Africa tour to spot the Big Five – elephants, leopards, lions, buffalo and the rare black rhinoceros – ancient Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” is home to almost every species in Africa... except the giraffe, which can’t negotiate the steep incline down into the caldera but will be seen at the rim of the crater. Game drives and a unique picnic lunch on the crater floor then drive to Serengeti. Serengeti Plains Lodge/ Tented Camp -FB
The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken ancient volcanic caldera in the world. In 1979 this nearly three-million-year-old area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The former volcano crater is also considered to be “Africa’s Garden of Eden”, as it is a haven for thousands of wild games, including lions, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, rhinos, Thomson’s gazelles and buffaloes. The crater is among the 8 Natural Wonders of the World.
Wake-up call before sunrise will be the daily schedule through- out your stay in Serengeti. Break the fast around 9:00 am then continue for a short game drive before you return for hot lunch at the camp/lodge. Later in the evening depart for an evening game drive, where you can often see large herds of migratory wildebeest, and large numbers of lions and cheetahs, as well as herds of giraffe and zebra – an unforgettable spectacle of Africa’s circle of life, right before your eyes!. This will be your area of exploration in four days. Dinner and overnight at Lodge/ Tented Camp –FB
Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world and it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. Established in 1952, it is home to the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lion, cheetah, elephants, giraffe, and birds is also impressive. The Park can be divided into 3 sections:
- The Central/ South (Ndutu plains) is a seasonal location tucked between the NCAA and Serengeti which allows off-road game drives, perfect for migration viewing. The Great Migration is a perpetual movement of over 1.5 million of wildebeest, zebra, antelope, and other migratory wildlife in search of fresh food and water. From January to February, Ndutu is expected have a dense concentration of migratory herds as it hosts the highly anticipated calving season. With the gathering of the Great Migration along with thousands of baby calves born every day, predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena will also follow in a desperate fight for survival. Be alert for the striped hyena, a rare carnivore that prefers the Ndutu area and is often spotted at dusk or dawn.
- The north meets up with Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve, is the least visited section. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous – over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. During the months of July- September the herds will cross the Mara River again and again in search of fresh grass. They will have to face the mighty crocodiles in the river, who are waiting quietly in the water for their opportunity.
- The western corridor is marked by the Grumeti River, and has more forests and dense bush. Serengeti is also known as the “endless plains” in the Masai language. This will be your area of exploration for the following two days, have the opportunity to discover this fascinating area and its wild inhabitants driving through the vast Serengeti Plains.
Today bid farewell to the endless plains as you depart for an ongoing game drive towards Seronera Airstrip to catch your flight to Arusha city. Upon arrival you will meet your guide who will take you to your hotel for check in, and hot lunch and a free time for the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight at Gran Melia Hotel- FB
